The last competition resulted in the usual bag full of replies and many of you answered most of the questions correctly, but as expected, it was the photograph that fooled you. Just for those who are still fooled, here are the answers:
Only 5 entries were completely correct, so well done to B M Wilson, Malcolm Pittwood, P Tofield, Louis Speakman and Mick Thompson for being real clever clogs. First out of the proverbial hat and the lucky winner of a pair of tickets for a museum trip is Louis Speakman from Wigan, Lancs. Not quite the lottery, but a close second.
An easier competition this time and one that everybody can enter. All you have to do is submit the most appropriate or humorous caption for the attached picture, showing Richard Noble and Craig Breedlove meeting each other. Couldn’t be easier could it? As always, the editor’s decision will be final, so go on, make me laugh!
Send your entry to Mach 1 News Competition, Mach 1 Club, PO Box 77, Hampton, Middlesex, TW12 2XN England or email to mch1club@chapm.demon.co.uk.
The winner will receive a very special Lledo model of ThrustSSC. Special, because club member Neil Gilfillan has built a wooden plinth with a section inlaid into it that contains some of the sample of the surface of the Black Rock Desert brought back for analysis and comparison with other potential desert sites. So, your very own ThrustSSC on its own little piece of Black Rock awaits.
Don’t forget that we offer a full range of Thrust merchandise, including models, T shirts, prints, posters and hats. Please see the shop pages or send a stamped addressed envelope for list. You can also purchase printed copies of previous Mach 1 News (cost £2.00 each) by sending an A4 size stamped addressed envelope and a cheque for the relevant money. Cheques payable to SSC Programme Limited. Only previous issues now available are those sponsored by Castrol, Ricardo Hitec and DERA.
