Spirit of America will have the first desert 'slot' tomorrow. ThrustSSC will roll out for tomorrow's runs at 1100hrs. Accredited members of the media wishing access to the Press Area opposite the measured mile should present themselves at Access 2 at 1030hrs.

2. Spirit of America has reached a 1997 peak speed to date of 391mph on the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA
3. After experiencing imbalances with dust building up inside the front wheel-rims, the centre front wheel has been removed as an attempted cure. Spirit of America is now a 4-wheeled car rather than 5.

Mazola Excursion

John Lovatt was doing something in the garden of the 'White House' where he is staying when two large dogs came up. He decided to stop doing whatever it was he was doing, but before he could do anything about it they had wandered through the open front door. Our sandwiches are made in the White House and they found a large lump of beef which they helped themselves to. John was left trying to persuade them to leave - and we had no idea he was so nervous of dogs...
