Black Rock Fund Raising: 46.68% Complete (at midday on 28th August)
Internet Fuel Campaign: 20.05% Complete (at midday on 28th August)
The ThrustSSC Team are preparing for departure to the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA on Tuesday, September
2nd 1997. At present more funds are required before departure can be confirmed - please see
"It's Time To Stand Up And Be Counted" for more details.
Microplex Web Cameras
The very latest status of the car can normally be seen through the live pictures from our
Microplex Web Cameras.
The Web Cameras are currently offline and have been packed for transit to America.
Individual Status Reports
Car
- The car is ready to be loaded for transit to America for the record attempt
Team
- The ThrustSSC Team are packing for Black Rock
- Andrew Noble is in Gerlach preparing for the team's arrival
Equipment
- Equipment is being packed for Black Rock at the project's old base at P8.R Shed, DRA, Farnborough
- All equipment not required for Black Rock has been moved to the project's new base at X1 Shed
Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA
- Permits to use the desert have been delayed until 6th September
- Andrew Noble is on site preparing for the team's arrival at the end of August
- The desert is dry for some 15 miles and the 13-mile course is good
Web Site
- Accesses are currently running around 340,000 a week
- The backlog of background information for the Web Site has been cleared (phew...)

... was last seen wandering around P8.R Shed choosing a crate to nest in for the journey to America. He still
needs a bath.

USA and for the operational budget.

- Many of the Mach 1 Club members are already en-route to Black Rock
- Web Site
- Complete "sign-off" for transit to America on Friday 29th August
- Pack computers, printers, monitors, scanners, cameras, leads, spares, ...
- Resume updates on arrival on the Black Rock Desert
