Individual Status Reports
Car
- The rear suspension is being reinstalled ready for runway tests
- New wheel fairings are being manufactured and fitted
- Numerous details are being improved
Team
- The ThrustSSC Team are hard at work preparing for Black Rock
- Runs Controller Jayne Millington has arrived back from service in the Falkland Islands
- Andrew Noble is in Gerlach making preparations for the team's arrival
Equipment
- All the equipment has now been cleaned, checked and prepared for further use
- A new entrance awning for the Pit Station is being manufactured to reduce dust ingress on the desert
Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA
- Permits to use the desert have been delayed until 6th September. The team will depart for America on 30th August.
- Andrew Noble is on site preparing for the team's arrival at the end of August
- The desert is dry for some 15 miles and the 13-mile course is good
- An inspection of the desert found 1 stone in 25 miles of driving. It was picked up.
Web Site
- Accesses are currently running around 200,000 a week
- The backlog of background information for the Web Site is slowly being cleared

Mazola Excursion
There are always problems to be resolved - that's the nature of record-breaking. But one day Richard Noble
walked into Aerodynamicist Ron Ayers' office.
"Hi, Ron. How's things? What problems are you working on?"
"Everything's fine, Richard. No problems."
"But, but, you must have problems, Ron. There's always problems!"
Ron kept his usual placid expression: "No problems today, Richard."
Richard left, looking confused...
