Individual Status Reports
Car
- ThrustSSC has achieved a peak speed of 540mph during the Jordan2 trials
- Repairs are underway to slight damage to the rear suspension after a bracket failed on the last run:
- The old brackets have been cut out
- The new brackets have been designed, subjected to Finite Element Analysis, manufactured, and are now being fitted
- New wheel fairings are being manufactured and fitted
- Numerous details are being improved
Team
- The ThrustSSC Team are hard at work preparing for Black Rock
Equipment
- All the equipment has now returned from Jordan and is being cleaned, checked and prepared for further use
- The interior of the Pit Station has been modified in light of the experiences of Jordan2
Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA
- Andrew Noble is now on site preparing for the team's arrival at the end of August
- The desert is dry and the course is good
Web Site
- Accesses are currently running around 155,000 a week
- The programme to streamline production of the Web Site is progressing well

... is having lots of fun exploring all the nooks and crannies of ThrustSSC. Concern has been expressed
about him getting settled in the auxiliary air ducts.

- The backlog of work is being slowly cleared...
- The effort to get the backlog of Jordan1 and Farnborough photos onto the Web Site is being progressing well
