Individual Status Reports
Car
- ThrustSSC has achieved a peak speed of 540mph during the Jordan2 trials
- Repairs are underway to slight damage to the rear suspension after a bracket failed on the last run:
- The old brackets have been cut out
- The new brackets have been designed, subjected to Finite Element Analysis, and are now being manufactured
- New wheel fairings are being manufactured and fitted
- Numerous details are being improved
Team
- The ThrustSSC Team are hard at work preparing for Black Rock
Equipment
- All the equipment has now returned from Jordan and is being cleaned, checked and prepared for further use
- The interior of the Pit Station has been modified in light of the experiences of Jordan2
Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA
- Andrew Noble is now on site preparing for the team's arrival at the end of August
- The desert is dry and the course is good
Web Site
- Accesses are currently running around 150,000 a week
- The programme to streamline production of the Web Site is progressing well
Jeremy Duck...
... has escaped from the threat of a bath and has flown back to P8.R Shed where he can be seen avoiding
both capture and soap-and-water.

photos is being worked on.

Mazola Excursion
ThrustSSC's driver, Andy Green, had successfully negotiated the Jafr Desert at 540mph without coming to any
harm. He decided to take a swim at Aqaba with the rest of the team. The result - he damaged his foot on the
poolside and spent the next few weeks on crutches.
It is understood that his insurers are happy to let him drive supersonic cars, but are reviewing his
cover for swimming...
