Spent 5 years in the RAF stripping, rebuilding and testing Spey engines before moving on to Phantom aircraft at RAF Wattisham. Left the RAF in 1992 and worked for Universal Salvage Auctions before joining the ThrustSSC Team.

How did you get involved in the project?

Al Harkness was having a problem with one of the Speys and called me. It just went from there.

Looking after the engines - servicing them, testing them and preparing them for action
