MERLO are World Leaders in Handler Design, having produced a range of telescopic boom materials handlers since 1982, with many design awards and patents.
The UK importer, MERLO UK Ltd, was delighted to sponsor the ThrustSSC project, by making available a 6 tonne capacity P60.6 EVS. This is a quite unique handler, having a higher capacity than other makes, but within a very compact package. This means that the ThrustSSC team can easily manouevre in the hangar or on the run sites.
Many features of the machine - sideshift, frame levelling and hydrostatic drive - make jobs like fitting the twin Spey jet engines much easier and safer than before. Other tasks include all the site handling, emergency vehicle lift machine, and even wind direction indicator with the very large MERLO flag!
