The drive from Amman is dual carriageway for 200 kilometres and then desert track for the final 8 kilometres. Estimated drive time is 3 hours.

From Amman, take the main highway south following directions to Ma'an and Aqaba. At Ma'an, leave the Aqaba road following signs to the Saudi border and Jafr.

Leave the Ma'an/Jafr highway at the Jafr village turn off and head for the desert fort on the right (landmark - 2 communication towers). Enter the desert to the right of the fort around the perimeter fence, and follow the desert track through the rough and then open desert for 3 kilometres to the red barrel marker. At the barrel, turn left 90 degrees following the track for a further 5 kilometres, passing 2 "islands" on the left. The ThrustSSC Pit Station is well illuminated in the dark, and the white Airshelta inflatable hanger is visible from many kilometres (depending on conditions) during the day.

Please slow down as you approach the Pit Station to reduce your dust cloud and park on the approach side.
