The facility of an Antanov transporter for getting the team to and from the desert makes it possible to fit a full 40ft trailer with SSC when it is flown to the test sites (Fig 1). A fully fitted out trailer will effectively mean our office and workshop can travel with us (Fig 2).
This 3 metre section contains a small workshop with a bench for hydraulics and a bench for electronics. This will be used as clean area (low dust) for any electronic or hydraulic work or indeed any other repairs need for the car.
This 3 metre section will contain most of the computers for monitoring the car during runs and for post run analysis. It will also contain the comms hub for site and car communications.
This 2.5 metre section acts as the 'Front Office' for Thrust while on the desert. The Internet PC will be here and a fax machine and the EDS / Hughes Phone.
This room contains comfy chairs, coffee and tea facilities and a microwave. This is for team members only and gives the team somewhere to go to relax away from the press and public.
A toilet for the obvious and a shower for health and safety. Should anyone get accidentally doused in fuel or hydraulic fluid the shower will be used. The water for the shower is in a 670 litre tank above the toilet and shower room.
Power will come from a generator fitted under the trailer between the wheels and the fifth wheel. The air conditioner will be mounted on the roof over each room (removed and stowed in Trailer during flight).
