TI Group was a major sponsor of the Thrust 2 project when Richard Noble won the World Land Speed Record of 633.468 mph for Britain. TI Reynolds built that car's space frame at Tyseley, Birmingham, using its Reynolds 531 tubing.

TI Group is again a main sponsor for the Thrust SSC project and again responsible for the vehicle main frame, made of Accles & Pollock aircraft quality T45 square section tubing. In addition, John Crane Polymer Engineering is supplying wheel bearing seals from Dowty Rotary Seals and Bundy is supplying brake and fuel lines.
