The ThrustSSC Team are in Jordan continuing high-speed testing of ThrustSSC.

Individual Status Reports
Car
- ThrustSSC is on the desert in the Aireshelta and is being prepared for planned runs on Monday
Team
- The entire Jordan2 operations team are now in Jordan and are acclimatising to the intense heat
Jafr Desert, Jordan
- The Jafr Desert, Jordan, has dried well after the winter floods and is now usable. The surface is generally better than 1996.
Hardness is currently 14 or better on the California Bearing Ratio scale.
- The tracks have been surveyed and the white lines are being painted with 'jir'
- Several tracks have already been 'fodded' by the advance team, the rest are being prepared
- The Bedouin crossing tracks are being repaired
Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA
Negotiations with the Bureau of Land Management are underway for the operating permit for this autumn's head-to-head with Craig Breedlove
and the Spirit of America.
Equipment
- The Pit Station is at the desert pits and is being set up
- The Palouste air-starters have been tested
- A minor problem with a Supacat is being rectified with a new hose
Weather
- It is very hot with a light breeze and clear skies
